CAFCL: Plateau United Will Play Home Games In Jos - Henwan

Sampson Adedeji

Ahead of the 2022/2023 CAF Champions League season, General Manager of Plateau United Pius Henwan has said they will work hard to ensure the club have its home matches played in Jos, BSNsports.com.ng understands.

With a game to the end of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League season, Plateau United will certainly campaign in the Champions League after finishing in second position behind champions Rivers United.

Henwan said he will approach the Governor and make him see reasons why they should have their stadium up to the required standard to host CAF games.

"I intend to discuss the issue with HIS Excellency Governor Simon Lalong to ensure that government release the much-needed funds to effect the repairs as fast as possible with less than two months to the commencement of the competition.

"It will not make any sense to qualify for the CAF Champions League and play the match outside Jos. That will not be fair to our loyal fans and the good people of Plateau State who have been supporting us passionately," he said.

Plateau United is placed second with 64 points from 37 games.
