Pyramids FC will be significantly weakened when they host Nigeria’s Rivers United in the CAF Champions League group stage encounter on Saturday in Cairo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The reigning African champions are set to face the Pride of Rivers without several of their first-team stars, as injuries and other commitments have affected the squad ahead of the crucial showdown.

Three important players—Ramadan Sobhi, Osama Galal, and Mostafa Fathi have been ruled out due to injury and will play no part in the match.

In addition, Moroccan full-back Mohamed Chibi and DR Congo striker Fiston Mayele may be unavailable or limited, as they only resumed training on Friday evening following their attendance at the CAF Awards ceremony in Marrakech on Wednesday.

Despite the setback, Pyramids FC will be hoping home advantage pushes them to victory, while Rivers United aim to capitalize on the situation to secure valuable points away from home.
