Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Champions League, Remo Stars and Rivers United, have been issued a 48-hour ultimatum by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The continental football governing body reminded clubs that qualified for the next stage of the competition to meet the required squad registration deadline.

Both Nigerian clubs advanced to the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League after overcoming their respective opponents in the first phase.

CAF has set September 30 as the final deadline for all teams progressing in the 2025/26 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup to submit their updated squad lists.

According to the directive, clubs still have room to make adjustments whether adding new signings or deregistering players before the deadline expires. Failure to comply could put teams at risk of sanctions or disqualification.

The ultimatum puts pressure on Remo Stars, Rivers United, and other qualified clubs across the continent to finalize their rosters and ensure all paperwork is completed before the strict cut-off date.
