CAFCL: Rivers United Boss Urges Team To Make History

The General Manager of Rivers United FC, Okey Kpalukwu, has charged the team to go all out for victory in their upcoming CAF Champions League match against FC Les Aigles du Congo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The crucial encounter is scheduled to take place on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, where Rivers United will host the Congolese side in the second leg of their first preliminary round tie.

After a goalless draw in the first leg at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa eight days ago, Kpalukwu believes his team has the momentum to progress to the next round.

Speaking to the players after their final training session in Uyo, he emphasized the importance of executing their game plan and trusting in their abilities.

"We all know why we are here. We've done half the job, and now we just need to complete it. On Sunday, stand up, do what you have to do, and with God's special grace, we'll enjoy the victory. We'll bring pride to ourselves, the club, Rivers State, and Nigeria."

Kpalukwu also cautioned the players against taking their opponents lightly, citing the narrow margin that separated the teams in the first leg.

"We worked hard and got a draw in Kinshasa. We can't take them for granted. We have to work hard and ensure we put in our best. What we want is to win, and we are the ones who have to score."
