CAFCL: Rivers United To Get N1.03 Billion For Reaching Group Stage

Nigeria’s representative in the CAF Champions League, Rivers United, are set to receive a massive financial reward following their qualification for the group stage of the competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Pride of Rivers booked their spot in the group phase on Saturday after securing a 3-2 aggregate victory over Mozambique’s Black Bulls.

According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), every club that reaches the group stage of the Champions League will receive a cash prize of $700,000 approximately, 

1,034,705,000 (One Billion, Thirty four Million seven hundred and five thousand naira)

This financial boost will come as a huge relief to Rivers United, as it will help strengthen the team’s preparations ahead of the group stage battles and cover key operational costs.

With this achievement, Rivers United continue to fly Nigeria’s flag high on the continent and will now shift focus to making a strong impact in the next phase of the competition.
