Nigeria's representative in the CAF Champions League, Plateau United started their campaign on a sound note as they secured a valuable away draw in far away Gabon, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Fidelis Ilechukwu's tutored side departed the shores of the country in the early hours of Friday ahead of the crucial encounter.
They came face-to-face with the Gabonese champions Stade Manji in a game that was keenly contested in Port Gentil the capital of the country.
The Nigeria side dominated the game as Mohammed Zuikifilu netted their second goal towards the tail end of the first half only to allow the host to level up again.
The second stanza was no different, Plateau United still dominated the game and had a goal disallowed as the game ended 2-2.
The second leg will come up at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abuja next weekend.
