CAFCL: Stephen Manyo Strike Sends Rivers United Into Second Round

Stephen Manyo's strike at the stroke of halftime ensured that Rivers United advanced to the second preliminary round of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League for the third time in their history, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
After a spirited display last week against FC Les Aigles du Congo, the Pride of Rivers took a 0-0 scoreline to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Sunday.
However, Manyo got the winner after the Congolese goalkeeper spilled Ubong Friday's free kick inside the 45th minute.
Rivers United went into the tie after a rugged performance inside the Kingshasa-Complexe Omnisports Stade des Martyrs.
The Pride of Rivers have now advanced to the next round alongside Remo Stars as Nigeria's representatives.
