CAFCL: Sudanese Referee Appointed For Rivers United Opening Match
Sampson Adedeji
Sudanese match official Mahmoud Ismail has been selected to take charge of Rivers United’s opening fixture in the CAF Champions League group stage against Pyramids FC, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The encounter is scheduled for November 22. Rivers United, fondly known as the Pride of Rivers, secured their place in the group phase after overcoming Black Bulls of Mozambique in the second preliminary round.
Ismail will be supported by fellow Sudanese assistants, with CAF confirming the full officiating team ahead of the crucial tie.
The Nigerian side will be aiming for a positive start as they continue their quest for continental glory.
