CAFCL: Wydad Casablanca Coach Blames Pitch For Defeat

Head coach of Wydad Casablanca of Morocco, Houcine Ammota has blamed the stadium pitch for their defeat, BSNSports.com.ng report

The Moroccan giant on Sunday at the Adokie Amasiamaka stadium suffered a 2-1 defeat to Rivers United of Nigeria in the first leg of the qualifying round of the champions league.

The French gaffer complained that turf didn't allow them to play their game and he further promised that the second leg will much different and interesting.

"The first goal that was scored I can't judge if it was offside by my position when we go back home we watch the camera, that is when I can give judgement about the goal.

We were affected by the soil and texture of the field and it didn't allow us to play a good game. We created many scoring opportunities but we never used them, we control the game very well.

"We will very interesting match in the second leg and we are going to prepare adequately for it", he said.

The second leg game is slated for Mohammed V Sports Complex on Sunday at 8 pm local time.
