The Confederation of African Football (CAF), in partnership with global sportswear brand PUMA, has officially unveiled the new match ball to be used for its flagship interclub competitions the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup—for the 2025/26 season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The newly introduced PUMA match ball will feature across all matches in both competitions, beginning from the ongoing group stages, as part of CAF’s continued efforts to enhance quality, visibility and global standards in African club football.

Nigeria’s representative, Rivers United, is among the 16 clubs still competing in the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

The Port Harcourt-based side is set to face Zambia’s Power Dynamos this weekend in their Matchday Three encounter of the competition.

CAF stated that the new ball is designed to meet modern performance and durability standards, while also reflecting the identity and prestige of African football on the continental stage.

The unveiling further strengthens CAF’s long-standing partnership with PUMA, as both bodies continue to work towards improving the technical and commercial appeal of African football competitions.
