CAFCL Ouster: Enyimba Chairman Shifts Attention To NPFL, Federation Cup

Following the unexpected ouster of the Nigeria champions Enyimba International from the CAF Champions League, the chairman of the club Kanu Nwankwo has shifted focus to the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League and Federation Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The People's Elephants was held to a goalless draw at home by Ahli Benghazi in the second leg of the competition which automatically eliminated them from the tournament 3-4 on aggregate.

The former Super Eagles forward felt disappointed about the game but said things like that happen in football to a good team.

" Sometimes these things happen to the best teams, the best players and that’s football.

“We have to move on. The boys have to put their heads up and then know that sometimes in life you fall and you stand up. We need to support and encourage them to do better next time.

“We are out of one competition, now we have the league (NPFL) and the Federation Cup, so, yes, we have to do more. We have to get more players to join the ones that we do have", he said.
