CAFCL:Why Remo Stars Lost To Medema SC- Collins

By Emmanuel Chinedu

Remo Stars defender Victor Collins has revealed the reasons why the team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Ghanaian side Medema SC, in the CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg on Sunday, at the Cape Coast Stadium, Ghana.

The former Amanat Baghdad and Nasarawa United left-footed defender featured for 77 minutes in the game for the Daniel Ogunmodede-led side as they suffered defeat on the road in the continent.

While speaking in an exclusive interview with BSNSports.com.ng, Victor revealed that the poor pitch affected the players and questioned why the Confederation of African Football (CAF) approved such a stadium.

"Yes, I think the poor pitch affected us, " said Victor.

"However, I don't understand the reasons why CAF approved such a stadium for a high-profile match like this."

The Enugu-born defender still feels optimistic that the team will turn it around in the second leg at the Remo Stars Stadium this weekend.

"I'm very confident that we are going to turn it around in the second leg because that is what we are going to prepare for.

"Because we will be playing at home, so we don't have any other choice than to win the game."

Remo Stars will be expecting to improve on their performance ahead of the second leg clash against Medema SC this weekend, at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.
