Despite being on top of the group, the hope of the Nigeria Women's Football League champions Edo Queens reaching the semi-final of the ongoing CAF Women's Champions League playoffs is presently shaky, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The WAFU B champions entered the second game against Masar FC brimming with confidence after a comfortable 3-0 in the opening game against CBE FC.

But it was not meant to be as they could not breakdown the strong backline of the Egyptian side.

The game ended goalless, but Edo Queens are still top of the group with 4 points, only better than Masar FC on goal difference.

The 4-0 victory of the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies against CBE FC earlier in the day threw the group open. Going into the final game, Edo Queens must avoid defeat against the defending champions and also hope Masar FC struggles against the Ethiopian club.
