Nigeria's Golden Arrows seem to have been a late bloomer in the ongoing 2022 African Handball Championship in Egypt, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

The Nigeria side lost to Tunisia and Cape Verde in their first two matches which ruled them out of title contention.

They recorded their first win on Friday against Zambia in a placement game to determine their position in the competition.

The Golden Arrows recorded yet another win on Saturday with a comprehensive 31-22 over Senegal.

The Rafiu Salami tutored side took charge of the game from the start and won the first half 13-9.

They rounded up the game with a 31-22 win in the second half to send a warning signal to Gabon who is their next opponent for the placement match.

Meanwhile, Golden Arrows goalkeeper Tunde Adams was awarded the Man of the Match award for his brilliant performance in the game against Senegal.
