CDS Tees Off 2024 Golf For Peace Tournament

Over 160 golfers will showcase their skills at the TYB Golf Course in Asokoro on Saturday, for the 2024 Golf for Peace Tournament, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
During a meeting with the organizers, General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff and lead peace advocate, encouraged Nigerians to embrace peace, stating that it is a more effective solution to combat the elements of evil that threaten the nation.
While receiving the peace torch, General Musa promised full support from Nigerian security forces to the organizers.
Mr. Abimbola Ajinibi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 2024 Golf for Peace, emphasized the importance of civilians partnering with the military to maintain internal peace, aligning with the non-kinetic approach of the current leadership among security chiefs.
Kemi Olowoyo Otegbade, the lead coordinator and initiator of Golf for Peace, explained that the tournament aims to promote peace campaigns across the nation in collaboration with the military.
She further noted that they plan to host this event at various golf courses throughout Nigeria, not just in Abuja.
Highlights of the event will include the lighting of the Peace Torch, a ceremonial tee-off, a peace address to participants, a peace catwalk by the Six Footers Club, entertainment, and the presentation of trophies and prizes to the winners.
