CGC Volleyball: Correctional shocks Customs on Day 2 of Premier League

The 2024 Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) Volleyball Premier League continued to deliver thrilling action on Day 2 in Abuja, with some surprising results in both the men's and women’s categories on Wednesday.

In a stunning upset, Nigeria Correctional Service (CNS) defeated Nigeria Customs Service 3-0 in the men’s category, dominating their opponents with set scores of 25-18, 25-15, 25-16. This shocking result left many spectators in awe as Correctional Boys outclassed the former champions.

In other men's matches, Offa VC emerged victorious over Nigeria Immigration Service in a five-set thriller, winning 3-2 (28-30, 25-16, 17-25, 25-14, 15-11). CNS Spikers comfortably defeated Spartan Spikers 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-22), while Kano Pillars outlasted Sunshine in a dramatic five-set match, winning 3-2 (25-15, 25-23, 22-25, 21-25, 8-15). 

In another upset, the Nigeria Police Force triumphed over COAS Spikers 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 19-25, 19-25), while Kada Kings convincingly beat NSCDC 3-0 (25-14, 25-23, 29-27) in a dominant display.

In the women’s competition, COAS Spikers made light work of NAF Rockets, winning 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-22). NSCDC registered a walkover against Kwara United VC, with scores of 25-0, 25-0, and 25-0. CNS Spikers also secured a 3-0 win over Nigeria Immigration Service (25-15, 25-18, 25-12), while Benue Queens defeated Anambra Queens 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-19).

LifeCamp VC enjoyed a comprehensive 3-0 win over Olalomi, taking the sets 25-19, 25-6, and 25-12, while Nigeria Customs Service brushed aside Kada Emeralds with a 3-0 win (25-13, 25-18, 25-15).
