CHAN 2023: CAF To Conduct Draws Without Nigeria

African soccer ruling body has announced the date for the draws of the 2023 Championship of African Nations competition slated for Algeria without Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng understands.

The Super Eagles team B crashed out of the competition when they lost 5-4 via a penalty shootout to the Black Galaxies of Ghana.

CAF confirmed that the final draw will be conducted on 1st October 2022 and will be hosted in Algiers, the capital of Algeria.

For the first time, 18 teams will take part in the competition following CAF's decision to increase the number of participating teams. 

From eight participants during the first edition in 2009, it moved directly to 16 at the second edition in Sudan in 2011 and now to 18. 

The competition is slated to hold between the 13th of January and the 4th of February 2023.
