CHAN 2024: Kenya Scraps Visa Requirement For Nigerians

Sampson Adedeji

With less than three weeks to the kickoff of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), Kenya's Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has stepped up preparations to ensure a smooth and successful tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Kenya, alongside Tanzania and Uganda, will co-host the competition scheduled to run from August 2 to 30, 2025.

As part of efforts to ease travel logistics for participants, the Kenyan LOC announced on Sunday evening that visa requirements have been waived for all participating countries including Nigeria.

This means players, officials, and fans from these nations can enter Kenya without a visa. However, fans from Somalia and Libya will still be required to obtain visas due to prevailing security concerns.

The move is expected to facilitate greater turnout and boost the overall experience for teams and supporters attending the continental event.
