CHAN 2024: Mistakes Proved Costly Against Sudan – Chelle

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has conceded that defensive errors were the main reason behind his team’s heavy defeat to Sudan in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria’s home-based Eagles endured a torrid evening on Tuesday as the Falcons of Sudan handed them a harsh lesson in their second group match.

Chelle explained that his side committed four costly errors, each leading directly to a goal, ultimately sealing their fate.

The defeat followed a narrow 1-0 loss to Senegal in their opening fixture last week.

In his post-match remarks, Chelle said: “We made too many mistakes and gave up the game in the second half. Four goals, four mistakes. We’ve made too many errors in both games [against Senegal and Sudan].”
