CHAN 2024: No Nigerian Referees as CAF Releases Match Officials List

Nigeria's referees have once again been overlooked for selection in a major continental tournament, as none were included in the list of match officials for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) released the names of selected referees on Wednesday, with Nigeria notably absent from the lineup.

Algeria and Morocco each secured two slots among the central referees — a rare and notable achievement.

The CHAN tournament, which is exclusive to players competing in their domestic leagues, is scheduled to take place from August 2 to 30, 2025.

It will be jointly hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. Despite Nigeria having qualified for the competition, the country will not be represented in the officiating crew.
