CHAN 2024: We’re Not Afraid Of Nigeria – Sudan Coach

Sudan head coach Kwesi Appiah has declared that while his team respects Nigeria, they are not intimidated by them, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Falcons will face the Super Eagles B team on Tuesday in their second Group match at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Sudan were denied victory in their opening game against Congo Brazzaville after conceding a late equaliser. They now face a stern test against Nigeria, who lost 1-0 to defending champions Senegal in their first outing.

Since taking charge, the Ghanaian tactician has turned Sudan into a side capable of competing with Africa’s best. Both teams head into the encounter needing a positive result to boost their chances of reaching the quarter-finals.

“Nigeria is one of the biggest nations in African football and we respect them, but we won’t fear them,” Appiah told journalists at Monday’s press conference.

A win would take Sudan to four points and leave Nigeria on three, while a draw would see Sudan move to two points and Nigeria remain on one.
