CHAN 2024 Faces Cancellation

The update coming from the CAF headquarter in Cairo, Egypt indicates that the 2024 Championship of African Nations is set to be cancelled, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The reason for the cancellation is the inability of the African soccer ruling body to secure a host country for the tournament.

Algeria hosted the last edition and Senegal emerged as the winner beating the host in the final.

To date, no country in the continent has shown interest in staging the biennial competition and this has led to the postponement of the qualifier

The qualifier was initially slated to commence in September but was postponed as the host is yet to be determined.
