Despite playing the first leg of the 2024 Championship of African Nations qualifier away from home, the former coach of the Super Eagles, Fatai Amoo, has refused to agree that the home-based Eagles have an advantage over Ghana, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Both sides will clash in the final round of the qualifier with the opening leg taking place in Accra, Ghana.
Amoo told Brila FM radio that, it's the outcome of the game that will determine if playing the first leg away is an advantage to Nigeria.
"It's not an advantage; the outcome will depend on your preparation, whether you are playing away first or at home".
"It comes down to how well you can maximize your opportunities, if you do that effectively, you are good to go".
"It's going to be 50-50, but we've started preparations".
"The selection of the players is good, but the results will ultimately tell if there is anything to add or subtract ", he said.
The first leg will take place in Accra on the 22nd of December with the reverse fixture slated for Uyo a week later.
