CL/CC Final: CAF Reverse Decision

The Confederation of African Football ( CAF) has decided to reverse its decision on the venue of the final of both the Champions League and Confederation Cup, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

Few years ago under Ahmad Ahmad as the President of CAF, the football body decided to cancel the two-legged affair for the final and decided it would be one leg at a neutral venue.

The outcome of the 2022 final between Wydad Casablanca of Morocco and Al Ahly of Egypt is one of the key reasons the decision was changed.

The final was played in Morocco after no country except Morocco bid to stage the final.

According to report coming from the CAF headquarter in Cairo, Egypt, starting from next season the final of both competition will be played on a home and away basis. 

The final of the 2022 was held in Morocco, Wydad emerged the winner while RS Berkane won the Confederation Cup in Nigeria.
