CONFIRMED: Favour Ofili Misses Out, As Women’s 100-meter Heats Start
Precious Oham
Favour Ofili did not participate in the women’s 100-meter heats at the Paris Olympics which started on Friday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Recall that the 22-year-old sprinter and Louisiana State University (LSU) student revealed that she was not included among the country’s representatives for the Olympics.
Sadly, Ofili did not make it for the women's 100m heats despite Nigeria's appeals for her to be registered.
Only two Nigerian athletes will now compete in the women's 100m heats: Rosemary Chukwuma (heat 5) and Tima Godbless (heat 7).
Chukwuma will be running from lane 5 in heat 5. She’s up against Ewa Swobodia and Dina Asher-Smith while Godbless will be racing from lane 3 in heat 7. She’s up against Gima Bass and Kambundji.
