Carl Ikeme Back In Wolves First Team Training For The First Time In Almost Five Years

Super Eagles and Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, Karl Ikeme on Friday returned to Compton Park for the first time in almost five years, BSNSports.com.ng can report.


Ikeme 18-year career at Wolves came to an abrupt end in 2018 after a 12-month battle against Leukemia.


Ikeme went on a tour of the beautiful and pristine Compton Park training ground of the team where he met old friends and new faces in team.


Ikeme was the number one goalkeeper of the Super Eagles of Nigeria after Enyeama retired from the national team and he was a perfect replacement but leukemia cut shot his dreams both for club and country.


He has since set up foundation to help people with similar situation after his successful surgery.


No doubt the Super Eagles missed him and at a point like this where the team is in crisis especially in the goalkeeping department, one can only wish he never experienced such say the twilight of his career.
