Central African Republic Appoints Rigobert Song As Head Coach

The Central African Republic has named former Cameroon coach Rigobert Song as its new head coach, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Song, a former defender, was dismissed from his role as the coach of the Indomitable Lions after their loss to Nigeria in the round of 16 at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The Ministry of Sports in the Central African Republic confirmed the appointment in an official statement.

"Rigobert Song is the new head coach of the Central African Republic, and he will be assisted by Eloge Enza-Yamissi, Sebastian Ngato, and Eric Caballero," the statement read.

Song is also set to lead the national team at the 2024 Championship of African Nations, scheduled to take place from February 1 to February 28.
