Champions FC wins Bet9ja Ekiti Football League 2022

Champions FC, Ado Ekiti are the winners of the Bet9ja Ekiti Football League 2022 after defeating EKSU Galacticos FC 2-1 in the finals. 

The match decided at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti saw Champions FC scored two quick goals through Abdullahi Olanrewaju and Mark Tyodo in the 26th and 28th minutes respectively to go into the half time break with the 2-0 lead. 

EKSU Galacticos FC returned into the second half with more determination and vigour and reduced the deficit in the 53rd minute from the spot after winger Sikiru Oladipo had been brought down in the box.

All effort by EKSU Galacticos FC attacker to get one more goal was thwarted by the defence of Champions FC. 

Meanwhile, earlier in the third place match, Ekiti United FC Feeders defeated Ifaki United FC 5-4 on penalties after playing 1-1 in the regulation time. 

Before then, we had Ekiti FA Club Owners pipping Ekiti State Bet9ja Agents 1-0 in a novelty match that was full of tricks, skills and technical plays.

The winners, Champions FC got the cash prize of five hundred thousand Naira, the first runner up got three hundred thousand Naira while the second runner up got two hundred thousand Naira. 

Some of the dignitaries present at the finals are former Ekiti FA Chairman and NFF Board member, Mr. Taiwo Odebunmi, Chairman Ondo State FA, Otunba Dele Ajayi, NLO COO, Mr. Shola Ogunowo, Ekiti State Sports Council Chairman, Mrs. Olusola Osetoba, General Manager Ekiti State Sports Council, Mr. Adeyemi, all who were delighted to have been present to watch the show on display at the final.
