Chelle Reveals Selection Criteria For Super Eagles Call-Ups

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has outlined the key criteria he considers before inviting players to the Nigerian national team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Since taking charge, the France-born tactician has stayed true to his word by consistently selecting players who are active and regular at their respective clubs.

“First of all, you need to have playing time,” Chelle told Onze Mondial.

“You must be in top physical shape and, of course, you have to be good.”

He emphasized the importance of tactical awareness, saying, “Physically, a player must be fit. But beyond that, he needs to be tactically intelligent to understand and execute my instructions.”

Chelle further highlighted the need for technical skill and mental toughness: “You also need good technical quality. And finally, you must be mentally ready.”

These standards, he said, ensure that only the best and most prepared players earn a place in the squad.
