Following Nigeria’s draw against Zimbabwe, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has returned to Europe to continue scouting and monitoring players, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The French-born coach made his debut in charge of the Super Eagles with a 0-2 away draw against Rwanda in Kigali, followed by another draw against Zimbabwe.

With the team battling for the sole qualification spot in their group, Chelle has prioritized assessing key players ahead of the upcoming fixtures.

One of his primary targets in Europe is Arsenal’s rising star, Ethan Nwaneri.

Chelle is keen to formally approach the youngster and persuade him to commit his international future to Nigeria.

Nwaneri has been a standout revelation in the 2024/2025 English Premier League season.

However, despite his impressive performances, England manager Thomas Tuchel overlooked him for the World Cup squad, leaving him eligible to represent Nigeria.
