Chibuike Nwaiwu Joins Trabzonspor On Four-Year Deal

Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor have completed the signing of Nigerian defender Chibuike Nwaiwu from Austrian club Wolfsberger AC on a four-year contract, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The 22-year-old centre-back, born on 23 July 2003, arrives in Turkey after establishing himself as a key figure in Wolfsberger’s defence.

Nwaiwu was widely regarded as the heartbeat of the backline and one of the standout defensive performers in the Austrian Bundesliga during his time with the club.

Trabzonspor moved decisively to secure the services of the highly rated defender as part of their squad reinforcement ahead of the new season, with the club confident Nwaiwu’s composure, physical presence and tactical awareness will add solidity to their defence.

Nwaiwu’s move represents another significant step in his rapidly progressing career, as he makes the transition from Austrian football to one of Europe’s more competitive leagues.

Trabzonspor fans will be hoping the young Nigerian can quickly adapt and replicate his impressive form in the Turkish Super Lig.
