Chief of Army Staff, BOT Members Perform Captain's Cup Ceremonial Tee-off

The week-long 2025 Captain's Cup golf tournament will climax Saturday after five days of different activities.

Tagged, "Tiger Bows Out", the last day will witness battle among Men handicap zero to ten and Female handicap Zero to Fifteen, members of Executive council, Board of Trustees members, Sponsors and Special Guests while Presentation of Trophies, Prizes and Awards will take place in the evening. 

Events that have been concluded in the last five days include Staff competition, Men and female division three, Pros competition, Sponsors, veterans, and Super Veterans competition.

Performing the ceremonial tee-off, Friday morning, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Olufemi Oluyede who was represented by Major General Adetokunbo Fayemiwo who was supported by the Club Captain, members of Boards of Trustees, Executive members enjoyed the participants to compete without any rancour.

"The Captain's Tournament or Captain's Cup is an annual event. Is a wonderful tournament. Let's us have a good recreation and fellowship together.

The Army will continue to be part of golf competitions." He said.

President, Nigeria Golf Federation, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, and a member of BOT described this year’s event as a unique opportunity to showcase what the outgoing Captain of the Club has done.

"As far as this tournament is concerned, is been able to create good family relationship among golfers especially in the North." 

He wished the outgoing Captain well and advised the members to continue living peacefully.

On her part, Past Lady Captain and a member of BOT, Grace Ihonvbere said, is a thing of joy for Captain to organize this event to showcase the outstanding one year on office. 

"Ibrahim Babayo has done well as Captain. He has contributed his own qoutas. We have seen improvements on the course. Our greens are in good shape and some renovation everywhere. Am glad to be here to celebrate his one year in office. " She concluded 

Over 300 Amateurs golfers are expected to vile for honours in the 18-hole competition on Saturday.
