Chukwueze Out For One Month Due To Injury

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze will be out for one month after he picked a thigh strain injury in AC Milan's 1-1 draw against Roma at the San Siro, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The Rossoneri have been beset by injury problems all season long and they went into Sunday night’s Serie A showdown with Roma sporting a long list of absentees.

Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Yunus Musah, Noah Okafor and Alessandro Florenzi were all out of action.

There was a boost at the dawn of the second half when Bennacer came on for Filippo Terracciano, his first appearance since sustaining a serious calf strain back in August.

However, the good news did not last long, because moments after stinging Mile Svilar’s gloves with a left-foot curler, Chukwueze suddenly pulled up clutching the back of his leg and calling to the bench for a substitution.

The attacking Nigerian winger was distraught as he had to be carried off the field by medical staff, with the suspicion this was a serious thigh strain and he is likely to be out of action for at least a month.

Chukwueze is now expected to miss the Supercoppa Italiana clash with Juventus on January 3 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
