Cissé Threatens To Quit Libya Over Unpaid Wages

Newly appointed head coach of Libya’s national team, Aliou Cissé, has threatened to resign over unpaid salaries, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former Senegal boss, who took charge of the Mediterranean Knights in March, has yet to receive any payment since assuming the role.

Despite the financial issues, Cissé led the team through their 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Angola and Cameroon.

Reports suggest the 49-year-old is the second-highest-paid coach on the continent, yet not a single payment has been made to him since he arrived in Libya.

Frustrated by the situation, Cissé who is under contract until 2027 has issued an ultimatum: he will walk away from the job if his dues are not settled by Thursday, July 17.
