Club World Cup: African Teams Set For Major Cash Boost From CAF

As the inaugural edition of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup approaches, Africa’s representatives are ramping up preparations for the tournament set to take place in the United States, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Four clubs have been selected to fly the continent’s flag: Al Ahly (Egypt), Wydad Casablanca (Morocco), Esperance (Tunisia), and Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa).

According to updates from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo, each of the participating African clubs will receive $2 million.

The funds are intended to support player acquisitions and overall preparations for the global competition.

This year’s edition will be the first to feature 32 clubs from around the world, marking a historic expansion in the tournament's format.
