Coach Michael, Avani Goal, Others Shine At 3rd Bodylanguage Gymnastics Competition
Medalist cheered as they leave the premises of Bodylanguage Gymmastics Club in Lagos City last weekend, after National Championship.
All medalist were encouraged with rewards, Cash and trophies apart from medals.
Almost 100 gymnasts participated from all over Nigeria in 3rd edition of Bodylanguage Gymnastics Competition.
Gold medalist gymnasts of National Sports Festival and National Youth Games actively participated in the event.
Coach Michael, who is Head Coach, Co- CEO and Co- Founder of the club mentioned, "We had gymnasts from all over Nigeria who have represented in NSF and NYG and have won medals. To mention some, Michael fadoju, Olufemi Adeyemi, Ebuka, Avani Goel, Ethel Jimoh, Chidinma, Emmanuel Oviasuyi, Jennifer Eke, Blessing Elikwu.
Michael Fadoju emerged as Best male gymnast artistic while Avani Goel emerged as Best Female Artistic Gymnast.
Emmanuel Oviasuyi and Blessing Elikwu won Gold in Aerobic Mix Double wherein Emmanuel Oviasuyi and Avani Goel won Gold in Aerobic Single."
He also mentioned that BLGC will continue to encourage gymnasts from all over Nigeria so that they can train to represent Nigeria on International Level.
The competition which began on Saturday ended on Sunday.
He reiterated the plans to use Bodylanguage Gymnastics Club as a platform to discover and develop grassroots talents in gymnastics across the country.
“The essence of the competition was to discover promising young gymnasts who would fly the nation’s flag in future international competitions. And we are already moulding one with some others. Avani Goal at her tender age has won gold medals at the National Youth Games and last two National Sports Festival.
“While others who will represent different states from our club are preparing and ready to beat their contestants to the podium.â€
The founder of BLGC, Mr Rajesh Goel, mentioned that gymnastics in Nigeria has great future. They just need a proper support, guidance and care which we are trying to give by encouraging them with rewards. This is to ensure that they continue to train harder and take the sports as career. He also thanked his sponsors like Scanfrost, Mecheosky Ventures and Jai Laxmi Nigeria Ltd for their support in achieving this.
The competition held for both male and female category from Pre-level to Level 5 and Open category.
BLGC won the best team trophy followed by FOS Gymnastics Club.
Head Coach, Coach Michael Ocheke received Best Coach Trophy.
Avani Goel emerged as the highest medalist in event winning 6 Gold medals, 1 Silver and best Gymnast Trophy. She was the only one to compete in Artistic and Aerobic Gymnastics Event and won medals in all apparatus and category.
The 4th edition according to Coach Michael, will come in Ending 2023 or early 2024.
