Colombia 2024: Falconets' Akekoromowei Vows To Score Against Burundi

Falconets Forward Janet Akekoromowei has set a target to score against Burundi when both sides meet in Saturday’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup final qualifiers, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Akekoromowei, who netted the only goal of the first leg encounter from the penalty spot noted that the aim of the team is to qualify for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

The Nigeria’s U-20 female national team will confront their counterparts from Burundi, at the MKO Abiola National Stadium.

"I have a target to score a goal and help the team to qualify because I have not being to the World Cup.

"I feel good and feel great. I thank God for the goal. I know we will win the match. I hope to improve in my game, jogging of the ball, get assist and goalscoring.

The Confederation of African Football has appointed Tunisian official Asma Chouchane as referee for Thursday’s clash, with her compatriots Houda Afine, Nesrine Ouertatani and Emna Ajbouni involved as assistant 1, assistant 2 and fourth official respectively.

Christine Ziga from Ghana will be the commissioner while Fadouma Dia from Senegal will serve as referee assessor.

This year’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup finals will be staged in Colombia, 31st August – 22nd September.
