Colombia 2024: Falconets Stars Relish Win Over Tanzania, Hail Nigerians For Support

Players of the Nigeria U-20 women's team have expressed their satisfaction following the 2-1 victory over Tanzania to progress to the final round of qualifiers for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup finals, BSNSports.com.ng writes. 

Some of the players took to their social media handles on Twitter, now X to express their joy after the win over Tanzania as they will take on Burundi in the final round of qualifiers.

One of the goal scorers, Comfort Folorunsho of Edo Queens said: "I'm happy to represent and contribute as always. The last week was an emotional one for me but I’m happy that my goal was the difference in pushing us closer to qualifying for the #U20WWC by God’s grace. Thanks to the fans for the support."

Midfield maestro, Taiwo Afolabi, who won the NWFL title in 2023 with Delta Queens hailed Nigerians for their tremendous support to the team.

She said: "We got the job done in style as we defeated Tazania 2-1 to seal our qualification to the next round of the U20 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifiers. Thank you Nigerians for your support always."

Her teammate, Rukayat Shobowale of Nasarawa Amazons, who got an assist in the game was full of smiles for the victory over Tanzania.

According to her; "I'm elated that we are finally through to the next round of the U20 FIFA Women's World Cup Qualifiers after defeating Tazania 2-1 in Abuja. Glad to contribute an assist in the game as we surge ahead for the ultimate goal."
