Commonwealth Games: Ochonogor Ruled Out Of Women's Long Jump After Entry Request Rejected

Team Nigeria's Prestina Ochonogor will not compete in the women's long jump at the 2026 Commonwealth Games after an attempt to include her in the event was rejected, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria had sought to add both Ochonogor and Ruth Usoro to the competition following the withdrawal of experienced jumper Ese Brume.

However, the request was not approved, as competition regulations did not permit replacing one original entry with two athletes.

As a result, Ochonogor has been ruled out of the event, while Nigeria's efforts to strengthen its representation in the women's long jump were unsuccessful.

The decision means Team Nigeria will be without Brume in the event, with the country's hopes now resting on the eligible athlete remaining in the competition.
