Nigeria’s preparations for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow have taken a new turn, with indications that the national trials may be moved away from Uyo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Reports suggest that a new venue for the trials will be announced soon, signaling a possible shift from the previously considered host city.

Meanwhile, the National Sports Commission (NSC) is finalizing plans to camp selected athletes abroad for a period of one month ahead of the Games.

The initiative is aimed at ensuring optimal preparation and exposure for Team Nigeria before the competition in Scotland.

The NSC is expected to take full charge of the athletes’ preparations after the conclusion of the national trials.

Selected competitors will then be flown overseas to commence intensive training.

The move to organize an extended foreign training camp underscores Nigeria’s commitment to improving performance and competitiveness on the international stage.
