Nigeria's Khadijat Ajisola has been eliminated from the women's 54kg boxing event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games following a narrow split-decision loss to Wales' Helen Jones, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ajisola produced a spirited performance in a closely fought contest but fell just short as Jones claimed a 3-2 victory on points to advance to the next round.

The bout was decided by the narrowest of margins, with two of the five judges scoring in favour of the Nigerian, highlighting how competitive the contest was.

Despite the defeat, Ajisola's display demonstrated resilience and determination against a strong Welsh opponent, although it was not enough to keep her medal hopes alive at the Games.
