Confed Cup: RS Berkane Intensifies Preparations For Bendel Insurance With New Striker Signing

Moroccan Botola league side RS Berkane has intensified their readiness for the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup against Nigeria's Bendel Insurance, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria Federation Cup champions surprised the football world on Saturday as they sent packing Algerian side ASO Chlef in the first preliminary round of the competition.

Former champion Berkane has swung into action immediately by signing a new striker to strengthen the team's attack.

They announced the acquisition of Senegalese forward Paul Valère Bassène as a replacement for Victorien Adebayor who left the club for Amazulu of South Africa.

Bassene is a quality striker as he netted 8 goals in 23 matches for MC Oudja last season.

RS Berkane won the competition 2 years ago beating Orlando Pirates of South Africa via a penalty Shootout at the Goodswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
