Confidence High in Falconets Camp Ahead of Senegal Encounter

Falconets Head Coach, Moses Aduku, has expressed confidence in his team’s preparedness and mental resolve ahead of Saturday’s decisive third-round clash against Senegal’s Lionesses de la Téranga in the Poland 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Speaking in the build-up to the encounter, Aduku highlighted the team’s extensive preparations, tactical discipline and growing belief within the squad, stressing that the players are fully aware of the significance of the fixture.

While acknowledging the quality of the Senegalese side, the Falconets coach insisted that his players remain focused on their own strengths and objectives.

“We respect our opponents, but we are confident in what we can do,” Aduku said. “The players have shown a high level of commitment in training and they understand what is at stake. Our aim is to secure a strong result that will put us in a favourable position ahead of the second leg.”

Nigeria will look to rely on the experience and quality of several key players, including Janet Akekoromowei, whose physical presence and attacking awareness have consistently troubled opposing defences. Midfielder Ramotallah Kareem is expected to provide creativity and pace, while Shakirat Moshood’s composure and work rate will be vital in maintaining balance across the pitch.

The Falconets, widely regarded as one of Africa’s most consistent performers at youth level, will seek to draw on their pedigree and the hunger of a new generation as they face a determined Senegalese team.
