It has now been confirmed that Senegalese international, Sadio Mane, will miss the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to injury, BSNSports.com.ng report.

The skilful forward sustained an injury while representing his club Bayern Munich in a league game and has just been confirmed that he will miss the World Cup.

The head coach of Teranga Lions, Aliou Cisse, decided to select him for the competition hoping that he will recover in time for the tournament.

After a thorough check, it was confirmed on Thursday evening that Mane will not recover in time from the injury.

The African champions will face the Netherlands in the opening group match of the competition before playing Ecuador and Qatar later.
