The Cool Hopefuls Cup, a pre-season scouting event for the Nationwide League One invited teams, will debut on Monday, February 10, at FC Ebedei Stadium, Apele-Sagamu, through Sunday, February 16, 2025, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

This tournament is sponsored by Ebedei Sports College.

Astute Media Personality and Coordinator of the event Tunde Shamsudeen said: "The Cool Hopefuls Cup is a modest tournament that brings the best teams together, promotes youth football, and provides career pathways for emerging talents.

"That's why the slogan of the event is "Teamwork Makes the Dream Work."

"The Cool Hopefuls Cup will be a marquee event on Ebedei Sports College's football calendar and will showcase clubs with talented players from the NLO.

"Cool Hopefuls Cup features an 8-team format, with teams in the Nationwide League One Division One and the NLO U19 Youth League. The teams will be divided into two groups of four Group A and Group B.

"Each team in the groups will compete in a round-robin format, and the top four teams—two from each group—will advance to the semi-finals, leading up to the final match.

"Another interesting fact about the Cool Hopefuls Cup is that the preseason will serve as a scouting platform for the invited teams as top scouts will be on the ground to watch all 15 matches.

"The two state-of-the-art pitches at the FC Ebedei Stadium will host all the matches, as they will be live on FC Ebedei TV."
