Super Eagles Samuel Chukwueze scored two second half goals in Villarreal 9-0 thrashing of CD Santa Amalia in a Copa del Rey at the Francisco de la Hera, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Chukwueze was not the only Yellow Submarine who go a brace, so did Gerard Moreno while Diego Collado, Álex Baena, José Luis Morales, Francis Coquelin and Étienne Capoue all scored one each.

From the early stages of the game, Villarreal showed their superiority against CD Santa Amalia, a team from the ‘Primera División’ in Extremadura. The Submarine accumulated several dangerous chances, but did not open the scoring until after the half-hour mark.

In the 32nd minute, Collado, who was making his first-team debut, gave Quique Setién's side the lead with a great finish. The move, finished by the attacker, involved Baena and Chukwueze.

Just three minutes later, those two players produced the second goal for Villarreal. The Nigerian winger laid the ball off for the Spanish midfielder to place a perfect shot into the back of the net from the edge of the box.

As the 2-0 scoreline was going on the scoreboard, Morales scored the third. In the blink of an eye, the Submarine regained the ball and set up a vertical move, which the attacker converted with another strike from outside the area. In five brilliant minutes, Villarreal had put the game to bed.

In the second half, Chukwueze scored two goals in the space of a minute. The first, a long-range strike, and the second, an accurate finish from the heart of the box. Again, on the hour mark, Coquelin took advantage of a fantastic assist from Gerard to score the sixth goal. The 7-0 goal came in the 75th minute and was scored by Gerard, who was back in goal after recovering from injury. The 8th came from Capoue just five minutes later. The final goal came again from Gerard.

The win sees Villarreal move to the next round of the Copa del Rey.
