Côte d'Ivoire national team head coach Emerse Faé is facing an uncertain future after the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) opted to temporarily retain him amid growing internal disagreements, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports, an Emergency Committee convened by the FIF decided to extend Faé's tenure by a few months despite ongoing divisions among the federation's leadership over his position.

With the federation focused on its presidential elections scheduled for September, officials have chosen to keep Faé in charge for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches at the start of the new international window.

However, reports indicate that while the former international will lead the Elephants through the qualifiers, the federation has already begun the search for a potential successor, raising fresh doubts over his long-term future.

Faé, who guided Côte d'Ivoire to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations title on home soil after taking over midway through the tournament, now faces increasing pressure as uncertainty continues to surround his position ahead of a crucial period for the national team.
