Court Clears Taraba State To Hold FA Election On Monday
By Niyi Busari
The Upper Area Court of Taraba State has ordered that the State Football Association election should be held on Monday, 12th June, 2023 as scheduled, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
The Upper Area Court 1 in Jalingo had on Friday restrained the state FA from conducting the election slated for Monday. This follows an order of interim injunction restraining the FA from conducting election of Executive Members of the FA. It reads; "an order of interim injunction this Honourable court restraining the defendants wether by themselves, their privies, agents, called from conducting any election into the Executive Committee Board of Taraba State FA on the 12th of June 2023 or any other pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice."
The same court however on the same day (Friday) when approached by the defendant's counsel set aside the ex-parte order clearing roads for the election of the Executive Members of the Taraba State Football Association. The order reads in part, "an order of this Honourable court vacating its earlier order restraining the respondents from conducting election into the executive committee Board of the Taraba State Football Association. That the order earlier made by this honourable court in motion ex-parte order number: JUAC/M/05/2023 is hereby vacated as this honourable court was misled into delving into a matter that has already been dealt with by the Federal High Court Jalingo in which judgement has already been delivered."
With this order, the FA is now set for the election later today.
