Nigeria’s men’s and women’s national cricket teams have maintained their positions in the latest annual rankings released by the International Cricket Council on Tuesday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The updated rankings, which apply 100 per cent weighting to matches played since May 2025 and 50 per cent weighting to matches from the previous two years, saw several movements among the top-ranked nations.

In the men’s rankings, India’s advantage over England was reduced from 14 points to 13 points, while in the women’s standings, Australia’s lead over England narrowed from 18 points to 12 points.

For Nigeria, the men’s national team slipped two places from 36th to 38th position in the global rankings despite retaining their status among the ranked nations.

The women’s national team, however, maintained their 26th position in the world following a consistent run of performances during the review period.

Both Nigerian teams met the required number of matches stipulated by the ICC to remain active in the latest rankings update.
