The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) is currently engulfed in a deepening crisis following the controversial election of its president, Abdoulaye Fall, BSNSports.com.ng reports
Tensions within the federation have intensified in recent days, with multiple stakeholders challenging the legitimacy of Fall’s emergence as president.
The election process has been widely criticized amid serious allegations of irregularities and undue influence.
Reports suggest that some voters may have been swayed through incentives, including the provision of travel and accommodation, raising questions about the transparency of the electoral process.
In addition, concerns have been raised over discrepancies during vote counting.
A major point of contention remains the inclusion of an extra vote in the final tally an issue that, according to FSF statutes, should ordinarily result in the annulment of the election.
With the situation deteriorating, attention has now shifted to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which is expected to deliver a decisive ruling on the matter in the coming days.
The outcome of CAS’ verdict could have far-reaching implications for the leadership of Senegalese football, with the possibility of Fall’s removal from office looming large.
